Launching the Terminal


1. Switch to the Finder.



2. Select Applications from a Finder window.



3. Open a folder called Utilities.

4. Start the application by double clicking it.



In order to have easier access to the Terminal in the future you can keep it in the Dock. Click its icon and hold until a menu appears:


Select "Keep in Dock". This can be very handy: If the Finder should stop working, then you have a second way of accessing all files on your computer. Under an early Version of OS X 10.2 this did save me hours of work once.


You can exit the Terminal like any other Mac application:
